Portland Winter Light Festival
Cari is the deputy director of the Portland Winter Light Festival. PDXWLF is a free festival that builds community by bringing art and technology to inclusive audiences while invigorating Portland in the winter. 208,000 people attended the festival in 2023 and it had an estimated economic impact of $4.3 million. She consults on development and created efficient and streamlined systems and processes for contract management, event hospitality, festival operations and merchandising.
Melty Fest Tour presented by Tillamook
From a celebration of pimento cheese in Atlanta, to a lakeside feast featuring top chefs in North Carolina, to a celebration of the Juicy Lucy in Minnesota, the Tillamook Melty Fest Tour traversed America visiting new cities and partnering with old friends to create curated regional experiences that celebrated all the culinary richness America has to offer. Cari acted as Project Manager, forging chef partnerships and producing influencer and consumer-facing events with Feast Portland in six cities to share Tillamook's award-winning cheddar and ice cream.
Oregon Contemporary
Cari was the director of marketing and development for Oregon Contemporary, a space dedicated to art, community, and the exponential possibilities of contemporary art. She worked with the organization through a name change and rebranding, helped expand fundraising and arts events, and created new revenue streams.
The Legend Series
The Legend Series dazzled Northeast Florida with pop-up dinner events that showcased the best of the region’s culinary, visual, musical and performing arts. Events were held in unexpected locations like parking garages, abandoned buildings – even cemeteries – and the location, entertainment, menu and theme for each event remained secret until the day of the dinners. Grassroots marketing tactics and strategic community partnerships ensured each event sold out in mere seconds. In 2015, our principal Cari was awarded the Arts Innovator honor by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville for breaking new ground and elevating Jacksonville's culinary culture through The Legend Series.
The Doro District
The George Doro Fixtures Company was established in 1919 in Jacksonville and operated as a family-owned business making architectural millwork for nearly a century. Iconic Real Estate Investments purchased the property and intends to rehabilitate as many of the original buildings as possible. Cari worked with them to help establish a comprehensive brand and regional presence for the mixed use development that facilitated an atmosphere of community engagement and allowed for innovative placemaking to further activate downtown Jacksonville. Once complete, this complex will transform the corner of Bay Street and A. Philip Randolph into an epicenter for culinary, cultural and artistic creativity by embracing tenants who will be catalysts to redevelop and reimagine the area.
The Chef's Canvas | Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens
Cari partnered with the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens on The Chef's Canvas, an artful cookbook that pairs Northeast Florida's top culinary talent with art works from the Museum's collection. The goal of the project was to provide a new, innovative way for Museum patrons to engage with the art works on display, and to unite different facets of Northeast Florida's cultural community. Cari acted as project manager and editor for the cookbook. The Chef's Canvas won gold medals from the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, Independent Publisher Book Awards and American Advertising Federation.
Intuition Ale Works
As one of the first employees and general manager of Intuition Ale Works, Cari focused on brand identity, creative marketing strategies, communications, community engagement and event programming for this groundbreaking local craft brewery.
Since the brewery opened in 2010, the craft beer industry in Jacksonville has become a source of local cultural pride and a shining star of the region’s economic development. Intuition gained statewide notoriety by being the first craft brewery in Florida to offer their products in cans, and played a major role in kicking off a local craft beer culture that is helping give an identity to Jacksonville.
Cooking with Intuition | Intuition Ale Works
Cooking with Intuition is a multi-award-winning cookbook published by Jacksonville brewery Intuition Ale Works. Cari acted as project manager and co-author, collaborating with over 50 local chefs, food trucks, home cooks and homebrewers to present a coffee table book which VOID Magazine described: "This is a book that will make you say 'Damn, I'm proud to be from Jacksonville.'" Cooking with Intuition received first place and Best in Show awards from Next Generation Indie Book Awards, The National Indie Excellence Book Awards, Independent Publisher Book Awards and the American Advertising Federation.
King Street Farmers Market
Cari co-founded King Street Farmers Market in Jacksonville, Florida to activate a previously vacant lot on King Street and provide a forum for farmers, food trucks, artisans and other local food businesses to sell their products during the week.

Cari was the project manager and editor for Calli Marie BAKES, a coffee table-worthy, kitchen-ready cookbook with recipes inspired by coffee shop cuisine released in winter of 2016.
